Academic programs that allow you to complete your first two years of college coursework at about one-half the cost of attending a public, four-year university. Career programs that provide the training you need to enter the job market or upgrade your current skills. The State Board of Education approved the creation of DSCC in 1967 and the first classes were offered in Dyersburg in the fall of 1969.

DSCC received $747,611 in emergency student aid through the HEERF II Grant.

If an institution obtains a student's written (or electronic), affirmative consent, an institution is permitted to apply these grants directly to the student's institutional account; however, students must be informed that they retain the option to receive a direct disbursement of the financial aid grant and that an institution may not require that the grant be applied to the student's account.

Dual Enrollment

The Dual Enrollment program is a terrific opportunity for eligible high school juniors and seniors to earn college credit before they graduate. Taking college courses in high school allows students to complete college faster and, for many seniors, will keep them engaged during their last year of high school.

Local Dual Credit (Credit by Assessment) opportunities at Dyersburg State Community College (DSCC, "The College") are made available to high schools in the DSCC service area. In partnership with DSCC, these high schools offer their students opportunities to earn college credit.
