First Stitches Sewing Store and Quilt Shops are locally owned and operated in Southern Colorado, offering sewing classes and qualified sewing machine sales and service. The story of First Stitches began in 2011, when owner, Kimberly Smith, purchased four Baby Lock sewing machines and traveled to various locations, teaching beginner sewing lessons to individuals of all ages.
Recognizing the community's need for a sewing center and repair shop, she decided to sell Janome Sewing Machines in a small space in the back of a bookstore in Canon City, Colorado. Within a few months, however, customers insisted she needed more space. So in the spring of 2013, her husband purchased a charming circa 1934 brick building on 4th street.

DIRECTIONS: OFF of I-25: Exit 102, Eagleridge Blvd, and turn west (towards the mountains). Go through 1st stoplight - please stop if it is red - and turn in BEHIND the Wingate Hotel. Make a left, go up a small incline and you will see us! Turn like you are turning into the back of the Wingate Hotel.

Great store with great people. I bought several sewing machines and I'm very satisfied with the service I received. Everyone is very helpful and Randy is not only very knowledgeable but also very dependable. He tries very hard to finish the repairs as soon as possible. I'm glad the second store is in Pueblo since I recently moved in Pueblo West.
