Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park
With year-round educational and recreation programs and access to over twenty-five miles of hiking trails, the Preserve & Park is a local gem. Whether you are a nature lover, outdoors enthusiast, or lifelong learner, this is a place to enjoy and a cause worthy of your support. Previous chair of the Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park Board of Directors, Linda Baker is a native of Wilton and a long-time community volunteer who has enjoyed serving in a wide range of roles.

Much of her recent effort has been with the Boy Scouts of America, where she is a local troop committee chair as well as a vice-president of the Northeast Region BSA, a national committee chair, and assistant lead for the international staff at the 2019 World Scout Jamboree.Professionally, Linda was a high school English teacher and staff development consultant before completing a Ph.
Our Programs

Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park offers a wide variety of outdoor programs that explore different aspects of the natural world. Whether you are an adult, child, or family, we have a program geared for you. Most programs are active and hands-on, involving a hike or a snowshoe walk to explore some of the Saratoga Sandplains ecosystems' beauty and wonder.
Schools

Local students are exposed to the presence and importance of local at-risk species and habitats and ways they can make a positive difference. Our favored field trip, "Habitats of the Saratoga Sandplains, " highlights the Karner blue butterfly's life cycle; its host plant, the wild blue lupine; the food chains and webs of the Saratoga Sandplains Ecosystem; animal adaptations, freshwater life, pollution and habitat loss, and much more.

Scouts, 4H groups, and other organizations are encouraged to schedule programs with us! We offer on-site, virtual, and field trip programs to suit your every interest. Enthusiastic and knowledgeable environmental educators add a new dimension to your visit, entertaining and educating children while enhancing awareness of the Saratoga Sandplain's unique habitats and diverse species.
Annual Earth Day Essay Contest

Each year, Wilton Wildlife Preserve & Park offers an essay contest in celebration of Earth Day and the environmental movement. This day has increased environmental consciousness, community participation, and many positive changes in the protection of the planet. We believe there is great value in engaging youth in the environmental conversation.
