The Dynamic Music and Movement Studio offers Foundations of Music classes, featuring the Orff Schulwerk approach, for children ages 3 and up. In these fun group classes, children learn musical concepts by listening and moving to music, chanting poems, singing, performing body percussion and playing instruments.

In each lesson, tailored to individual needs, the students of The Dynamic Music and Movement Studio are taught to become experts at reading music and to bring the page of music alive. In an effort to promote confidence in performing, we host recitals in the Oceanside studio 3 to 4 times per year. Our ultimate goal is to teach our students to become independent musicians so they can enjoy their musical skills for a lifetime.

Our Philosophy
Report
First and foremost, music should bring joy. Teaching music certainly brings us joy, and we share that joy with our students every day. We work hard to make music fun for our students, and we love to see the smiles on their faces when they leave their lessons each week. Lenore created the Foundations of Music program to address the musical needs of young children, which are not served properly by traditional methods.
Music & Movement for Young Children
Report
The Dynamic Music and Movement Studio offers Foundations of Music classes, featuring the Orff Schulwerk approach, for children ages 3 and up. Children who participate in quality group music programs improve cognitive skills, physical coordination, language skills and social development. Like learning any language, the best time to start is.as young as possible.
Piano
Report
At the Dynamic Music and Movement Studio, all students attend a weekly private piano lesson. The length of the lesson varies from 30-60 minutes, depending on the students' needs. In order to make consistent progress, students need a suitable instrument for at-home practice. If you don't already have one, please call us before you purchase an instrument so we can guide you to the best options within your price range.
Making Music a Right, Not a Privilege
Report
The benefits of learning music last a lifetime, and we are doing our part to ensure that students of all backgrounds can attend lessons at our studio. When Lenore started her Foundations of Music program in 2010, she set out to create an affordable and developmentally appropriate educational option for families with young children.
Performances
Report
The following videos showcase the variety of musical activities that our Orff students participate in. They feature movement pieces (often choreographed by the students themselves), singing, speech, body percussion, percussion instruments, pitched instruments, and class collaborations. Miss Lenore and Miss Emma often perform in the student piano recitals, which are held 3-4 times yearly.
