The mission of the Maitland Arts Initiative is to provide arts education, outlets, resources and opportunities to students and communities who may not be able to access these types of programs and resources. Through our innovative programming and initiatives we strive to connect students of all ages and demographics with the opportunity to live their dreams and pursue their artistic passions.

Reading chord charts. Understanding the Nashville Number System. Playing by Ear. Improvisation. All of these skills are important when cultivating a skilled musician for Worship. Our Worship Piano program will prepare musicians at any skill level or age to be an effective part of their Worship Team.

Whether you are a podcaster, Youtuber, or aspiring journalist our VLogging program will teach the skills you need to be successful at your craft. Let's face it. These days we have a lot to say and we want the world to hear it. The question is, how do we do this effectively and in a manner consistent with how the general public likes to hear their messages.

Our approach to learning to play by ear focuses on a combination of modern ear training, improvisational techniques, Nashville Number System, and chord charting. We will teach you how to learn songs simply by "hearing" them. Then we will teach you how to apply improvisational techniques to take your playing to another level.

There is more than just one of the industry-standard DAW available to the modern producer. The challenge is that sometimes once you get the software how do you start using it? Yes, there are options like YouTube but what if you have questions? What if you need customized training for a specific situation?
