What age range do you photograph for newborn sessions?
Newborn sessions work best when babies are between 5-14 days old for optimal sleepy poses. We also offer milestone sessions for babies up to one year old.
Do you provide props and accessories?
Yes, our studio offers a curated collection of vintage props, handmade headbands, and natural textures. We also have a selection of maternity gowns and baby wraps available for use during sessions.
How long does a typical session last?
Newborn sessions typically take 2-3 hours to allow for feeding and soothing breaks. Maternity and milestone sessions usually require 1-1.5 hours depending on outfit changes and location.
What should we wear for our session?
We provide detailed styling guides with color palettes and fabric recommendations. For newborns, bring 3-4 outfit changes in different tones. Parents should coordinate outfits using our provided style board.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend booking newborn sessions during your second trimester as slots fill quickly. Maternity and milestone sessions can be scheduled with 4-6 weeks notice for preferred dates.
What is your rescheduling policy?
We require 48 hours notice for rescheduling. Newborn sessions have flexible scheduling windows built into contracts to accommodate unpredictable arrival dates.

Hands down, the best photographer EVER! Essie is so sweet, inviting and so accommodating. I booked a photoshoot for my daughter's 1st birthday. My daughter was so cranky that day and was not having it. Essie was so kind that she asked us if we wanted to come back another day to take more pictures. The second time around, my daughter was smiling more. And the fact that my son was running around her studio was driving me nuts but Essie reassured me that she did not mind it at all. I am forever grateful for Essie. Definitely will book her again for our family photos. As an extra bonus, her prices

Looking for a newborn photographer? Look no further. Essie was amazing. She was gentle and kind. I was hesitant at first because we already have a family photographer but newborn photography is totally different! She knew how to keep my baby safe and positioned her very carefully. She had so many different colors in her textiles and bows with different backdrops and baskets. We got everything we wanted. It was absolutely perfect. The turn-around time on the photos was quick but the quality and customer service was top-notch. Honestly worth every penny. Thank you Essie!

Essie is simply a baby whisperer when it comes down to it! The studio is ALWAYS pristine and she is very safe and takes her responsibility for her clients health and safety very seriously. She is always on time and has amazing communication skills. I have two children, my daughter who is 5 and we just finished my sons cake smash for his 1st birthday. Shes done my daughters newborn, 3 month, 6 month, and one year and my sons 6 month and one year photos (because of the pandemic or else shed have done more). Her photos are both timeless and classic. I would highly recommend Essie Rose Photography for any photography needs from newborn sessions to milestones. She is incredible with the little ones and is an absolute joy to work with.
