It all starts with the first note. While learning a musical instrument can be challenging, with hard work and determination, it becomes a rewarding experience that will last a lifetime. Listening to the needs and desires of the student and or parent is paramount to their success. While I teach the student the fundamentals of music, I also allow the student to express themselves by showing them what they want to learn as well.

WIth the vast array of music styles around the world that have guitar and piano, it's easy to see why so many individuals are drawn to learning how to play them both. Designed with the beginning student in mind, the guitar and piano lessons start the new student off the right way with a focus on the structured fundamentals of learning to read standard music notation and basic music theory. If you have been playing for a little while but still do not have an understanding of basic music theory, then you will do well in my intermediate program.

Joseph Hanson started playing the violin at the age of 8. After a number of years playing violin, he started playing the trumpet in school band. By the time he reached the age of 14, Joseph knew he wanted to expand on his musical instrument knowledge and picked up a guitar for the first time and since then has never put it down.

Joey is a great instructor. He posses two things important in teaching (1) patience (2) the ability to break down information in an understandable way. I appreciate that he focuses on what the student wants to learn while gently steering them in a productive and ultimately educational direction. I have been under his instruction for 6 months now and have experienced a dramatic difference in my playing and understanding of music.
