Your Local Coffee Haven in Fayetteville, NC
Since 1999, Rude Awakening has been a cornerstone of downtown revitalization through community-driven hospitality. Founded by Molly and Bruce Arnold after rescuing a historic building from demolition, we combine architectural preservation with artisanal coffee craftsmanship. Our team specializes in Magnolia Coffee Company's award-winning Jade Espresso, offering over a dozen preparation methods from nitro cold brew to Cuban-style coffee. We prioritize creating employment opportunities for underserved individuals while maintaining rigorous sanitation standards and product quality.

As active community partners, we collaborate with local businesses like City Center Gallery and Charley's to foster downtown Fayetteville's cultural ecosystem. Our commitment to freshness means menu items rotate seasonally, with substitutions available when daily specials sell out. Through consistent operating hours seven days a week, we serve as both a neighborhood gathering space and a destination for regional coffee enthusiasts.

Delicious coffe, tea and cakes. I'm seriously impressed. The coffee has great flavor and isn't bitter, the tea is made with real tea leaves, their Tiramisu is to die for (and that's coming from someone who had had Tiramisus all over Europe before.), the spiced cheesecake, YUM! And even the gluten free cupcake I had, was delicious (I didn't even know it was gluten free). The ladies behind the counter are very sweet. One took time to explain the menu to me and the other lady quickly rung us up. We'll be back. Thank you!

Awesome little coffee joint right on the main strip in historic downtown Fayetteville! Lots of options for coffee and a wide selection of candy bars, pocket lattes, local honey and other local products

It's so tiny inside but the cheerful colors and warm staff make such it a pleasant experience. There are a couple tables inside and a few more outside if you love the weather. The truffles? The honey sticks? Yes, please! I'll try the espresso next time

I travel for work and it's starting to pick back up. When in a new town I always try finding the quaint local shops instead of the other guys, this is the best experience I've found in a while. The decor is unique and eclectic, I spent most of the time looking around at all the different pieces - what a collection. The brown bag lunch was just right and hit the spot, I also had a nitro brew as well as my usual double espresso which went well with the chocolate chip cookie from the lunch. The barista, coffee and lunch was super and I hope to be back through!
