It is through our educational, outreach, and community engagement programming that students learn not only the technique of dance, but also the value of creativity, discipline, and commitment, emerging as young adults who embrace the reward of a focused passion and creating with their community.

Ballet Lubbock was founded in 1969 by Suzanne Aker in a one-room studio at 42nd & Boston. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank everyone who has joined us on over the years and we celebrate you during this special season. Susan, at the age of 21, met Ballet Lubbock's founder Suzanne Aker in a PE ballet class at Texas Tech University in 1969.

We honor those who have chosen to make Ballet Lubbock part of their lives, whether through dance, music, direction, or dedication. Meet the people of Ballet Lubbock, our family. Alexandra Mercer is a junior at All Saints Episcopal School. She has attended the following workshops: Ballet West artEmotion, Colorado Ballet, and Joffrey Musical Theatre.

We present traditional favorites, seasonal classics, and bold experiments in movement and music, and invite all to experience the best of Ballet Lubbock. Encore: The Backstage Bash is a night of choreography and cuisine in support of Ballet Lubbock's mission and programming. Free ballet classes went from 3 to now 21 area elementary schools (and counting) across five school districts. New programs were created including Bedside Ballet that provides moments of joy and transformation in our local children's hospitals three days a week.
