I wish there was a way to leave less than 1 star. I'm not exactly sure why I've given this place more than one try because the service is absolutely atrocious and the food isn't good enough to make up for it. The people who answer the phone/take orders in the front are rude, ghetto, and need extensive customer service training. So unless you like to be treated subpar ask you're patronizing a business.. DONT NOT GO HERE! Save your money, time, and frustration.

Use to get there smoother chicken but I dnt eat chicken anyway more so I got the meatloaf and dressing🤮 idk what the store brought food it was but take it back an off the menu like that's stovetop stuffing NOT DRESSING like you dead wrong so I basically paid 17 bucks for lemonade and cornbread cus that was the only thing that tasted OK....

This was my 1st time eating from here and it was not a pleasant experience. I had the oxtails with rice because it was listed on the website menu under popular dish. My oxtails had a funny taste like the meat wasn't fresh. The collards were under seasoned, the candied yams sauce was very watery, the peach cobbler had a mild lemon taste. The mac n cheese was alright. I want to be fair and give a 2nd chance with their meatloaf next time but with the oxtails tasting expired I'm not sure.

Awesome food choice! They clean their food which is super important and for those that know you know..... I highly recommend this place. The food is always on point however as amazing as the owner is the people that work behind the register not so much. If you can look passed this as you should the food is worth it!

I bought 2 peach cobblers for $7.00 and received 2 small containers of cinna-dough with a few peach slices thrown in..... So much cinnamon and what tasted like nutmeg that it left a lasting and very undesirable after taste. So horrible it wasn't worth the try... TRASHED.

Don’t ever eat from here! They have mold in there kitchen and gave me a piece of bread that had to of been sitting for I don’t know how long. When I came back in the store I was told that it’s just the bread and do I want another plate because they don’t do refunds when another employee that I was speaking to first had just said that they would refund me so then I’m told to leave because they can’t do anything for me after they basically gave me contaminated food. Who in there right mind would want another plate if I just received items with mold on it.

If I could give my experience today a negative star I would! I called in my order and a lady that sounded half remedial took my order. Told me it would be 30 minutes. Got up there and my order NEVER made it to the back! Easy mistake and I would not be writing in about it but the man, who I assumed was the owner, was TOTALLY unapologetic about the mishap and played it as though my dollars don't matter!! I would never eat here again. I was given a piece of bread with mold on it. I asked the manager does he feel like it's okay to give out food with mold on it and I was told yes. That's it's just the bread I'm acting as if it's all my food. I was also told that I wasn't going to get a refund and was asked did I want something else. What sense would it make to still want food from someone where I was given food with mold on it. When I first walked in I was told I was going to get a refund but then speaking with the manager he said I heard wrong I wasn't getting anything

Poor customers service & their food is a class c who orders a turkey burger 🍔 like $6 with absolutely nothing on it? Not even a piece of cheese in which you ask for... What's even more disgraceful I have to go to 7-Eleven to put cheese on my turkey burger and chili to make something out of it paying customers shouldn't never have to substitute a meal...

Stopped here on a whim because I had to use the UPS store in the same strip mall. First off, parking is difficult here. There are so many cars trying to enter and exit this tiny parking lot, I swear there must be an accident every day. When you back up from your space, look very carefully because there is likely a car or 3 behind you or zooming thru. I was disappointed to see you cannot eat inside. They have tables barricading the dining area. It looked very odd. The guy took my order and I asked if the scallops were real or if they were fish... He said they were real, and they are. I also got

Ordered at 1:45. 2:13 was the pick up time. On my lunch break! When I got there it wasn't ready. It finally was ready at 2:28. I only stayed because I had no other choice since my break was bout over. Got back to the job to find they left out my vinegar for the greens which def neede it because they came in no juice & almost tasteless (no season) baked beans straight out the can! Be prepared to eat half of ya chopped turkey cause half is fat! & full of oil! Def not soulfood!

Everyone enjoyed their meals. The amount of food, seasoning, and taste were all satisfying. Not too greasy or salty as sometimes fried food can be.
The only issue is the take out option via Yelp (EatStreet). After payment, I received an email that the order would be ready in 20 minutes. Then an updated email after 10 minutes, that the order would not be ready for 60 minutes. I then went to the establishment to request a refund - as we were not willing to wait another

I'm kind of new to Charlotte, NC so I'm not familiar with what places are good or not. I decided to try Sunset Soul Food after reading a few reviews and man I'm glad I did very flavorful cooked to perfection. I have eaten here3 times already it's hard to stay on my diet knowing this place exist sorry no pictures I dived right in when my food arrive.

Sunset is my go-to place for all things soul food. I've had the oxtails, fried chicken wings, collards, potato salad, Mac and cheese and green beans, and it's all delicious and seasoned to perfection! My next venture will be that famous croaker I've heard so much about.
I typically order online through their EatStreet app, and the customer service has been exceptional. Next time I will get names, but everyone I've encountered here has been hospitable and shows genuine care for customers. I highly recommend you try Sunset for yourself, and maybe order ahead if you're craving

Ordered take out here for the first time on a Saturday for the family. Got meals plus desserts. I have a sweet tooth so I'm starting there. The desserts were the best part of the meal! We got peach cobbler, strawberry cake, and chocolate cake. All tasted like they came straight from my grandmothers kitchen. The strawberry cake was AMAZING!! Like, THE best I've had EVER! And for the portion sizes all reasonably priced at $3.00.

Updated review - coming here on a Sunday was my worst mistake. I ordered my food at 4:45 through yelp. Received an email that it would be ready by 5:10. I didn't get my food until 5:35 - almost 1 hour later. That is absolutely ridiculous. And of course, I did not receive any acknowledgment or apologies.
Despite my prior frustrations, I returned to give them one more chance. The food came out in time and was delicious! Wish I could give 3.5 stars.

I can understand the low ratings on this place as a result of the service. It almost prevented me from trying it out. Almost.
The hubs had a craving for oxtails but I didn't want to spend hours cooking. Luckily Yelp helped me find a spot that serves it. He usually eats it in Asian form - in a soup with noodles. But since I wasn't up to making it, I'll try something different. So glad I did!
This place is easy to miss and there's construction in the area which makes it worse. Be on the lookout! It's behind Aldi's in a little strip. Parking is scarce and the place
