Report
The field of periodontics and dental implants continues to advance, offering patients new and better treatment options. Patients' quality of life improves greatly when they are able to regain optimal function and a more attractive appearance. I combine two aspects of my professional life as a periodontist and implantologist to offer the best and most comprehensive care to my patients.
Dental Implants
Report
Dental implants are used to permanently replace teeth that are missing or cannot be saved. They serve as root replacements to support crowns, bridges, or dentures to restore optimum function and to prevent future bone loss to the jaw and adjacent teeth. Over the last couple of decades, dental implants have revolutionized modern dentistry and are now considered to be 'standard of care' in the replacement of missing, or soon- to- be missing teeth.
Preparation and Recovery
Report
Prior to treatment dental x-rays and in some cases a CT scan is done to determine the quality and quantity of the bone in the area and the best location for your dental implant. Bone grafting or adding bone to the area where the tooth has been lost is sometimes required to increase the long-term prognosis for the implant.
