Buck's Harbor is a beautiful and well protected harbor in the heart of Penobscot Bay which stands at the head of Eggemoggin Reach - one of the most popular passages on the Maine Coast. BHYC was founded in 1905 and, as one of the oldest yacht clubs in the country, follows a long tradition of sailing, racing and cruising.

A significant part of our sailing program is the Jr. Sailing Program with the mission of developing competent sailors and instilling in them a love and respect for the sport of sailing so that it becomes a life-long source of enjoyment. In addition to a full program of sailing classes there are plenty of opportunities to race, enjoy group sails or to simply mess around in boats.
Adult Tennis

In addition, Tennis Social Round Robins for adults will be held every Wednesday from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. A Tennis Committee member will arrange men's, women's and mixed doubles as best serves the players who attend. Play will continue as long as there are interested players, so it may be possible to play even if you do not show up exactly at 8:30 am.

Under the Tennis Signup menu (to Reserve Court Time) you'll now see a submenu listing the different tennis activities. The calendar on each page shows the time slots available for booking. You then see a confirmation pop-up message. Cancelling a Session - once you have scheduled times, the tennis signup pages will display a "My Bookings" section below the calendar.

In addition to sailing and tennis there is a very active social calendar at BHYC. Each Saturday of the season there is a Race Tea at 4pm, Every Thursday night a square dance is held for the younger members at 7pm and each Monday afternoon there is a bridge game at 1pm. Please check our calendar for dates and times of these events and also check the Events page for specific details about these and other upcoming events.

Bucks Harbor Yacht Club welcomes new membership applications, whether from individuals new to the area, those returning to the area, or children of past members. The first step in the application process is connecting with a current member who is willing to sponsor your application to the Yacht Club.
