Started in 1848 as La Generale Watch Co., Omega SA has been the choice for presidents, celebrities, and armed forces alike. While James Bond has been a consistent wearer of Omega since 1995, it was also the first watch on the Moon, an initial choice of the U.S. Army in 1918, and in 1932, began as the official timekeepers of the Olympic Games.

Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex, entered the business in 1905 as a distributor for watches in England. He dreamt of offering his own brand of wristwatches, which were not very popular at the time. Moreso, he wanted extremely robust movements. He contracted with a manufacturer in Bienne, Switzerland for movements, and, by 1908 had come up with the name, "Rolex" and the brand was born.

Founded in 1860 by Edouard Heuer, Heuer became TAG Heuer in 1985 with the purchase of a majority stake by the company TAG Group (Techniques d'Avant Garde). TAG currently resides under the umbrella of LVMH's Watch Group, which also owns Hublot, Zenith and Bulgari. TAG Heuer has become one of the world's finest artisans of luxury, yet affordable, Swiss watches.
