Our Story

We started in 2012 with 4 teams and a portable boarded field. The goal: bring 5-a-side to Kansas City and change how people play soccer. For 3 years, we organized leagues and tournaments throughout Kansas City using the portable field. Setting up in various parks and even in the street, we began growing our events and spreading the word.
5-A-Side
Report
Well, the objective is the same as the traditional game: Put the ball in the back of your opponent's goal! 5-a-side is just a smaller version of the world's great game that allows more individual ball time and continuous play at a fast and exciting pace. Suitable and challenging for the most experienced player, yet just as fun for the beginner.

No, Futsal is Futsal. Although there are some similarities and the term 5-a-side is sometimes used to describe Futsal, it is NOT the same. Futsal uses a smaller, heavier ball, is played on a hard court, and does not have dasher boards. At The Soccer Lot, you will be playing with the same ball that you are use to playing with (a regular size 5 ball) and the field will be surrounded by dasher boards to keep the ball in continuous play.
