Music is more than a pastime, is a way of expressing an individual's uniqueness. I have seen over the years how children grow in their experience of music and become confident in expressing their talents. Teaching piano and guitar lessons has given me the privilege of learning first hand that the musical experience has a fulfilling influence in our life and the lives of others.

Piano Lessons - ages 5 and 6

This is a great age to start your kids on the piano. To ensure each young learner has the best possible introduction to piano, Dan emphasizes fun during each lesson, introducing new songs each week to motivate and excite. Soon your child will be playing piano! Because students should play their music at home, parents are encouraged to direct students to practice at least a few days each week, where they listen and praise their child.
Guitar Lessons

Children ages 9 and up can learn basic guitar skills and knowledge. Learn fundamental guitar skills such as learning the notes on the fretboard, how to read written guitar music, the different styles and history of guitar music, chords and scales and how to play popular songs on the guitar. Guitar playing draws from several traditions of classical, folk, flamenco, rock and jazz.

Dan Coutu is a professional piano and guitar instructor with over 20 years teaching experience in the Needham MA area. Lessons are available to children of all ages as well as advanced instruction for both piano and guitar players. He also performs all over New England as a keyboardist with different bands on a regular basis.
