
North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) is a nationally-ranked, two-year institution located in North Central Iowa that serves students of all ages and abilities. Starting in 1918 as Mason City Junior College, NIACC has the distinct privilege of being the oldest Iowa community college. In 2018, the College celebrated its 100 year anniversary of providing high quality, community-responsive education to our students.
Since 2012, the College has received numerous national rankings, including being ranked in the top 10 percent of all community colleges in the nation by the Aspen Institute. Located two hours south of Minneapolis, MN and two hours north of Des Moines, IA, NIACC is big enough to provide many opportunities for students and small enough to give students the personal attention they need and deserve.

Conference Center

AC 100 is ideal for wedding receptions, graduations, and larger groups. It is also the main cafeteria area where our student population dines, so depending on the time of year and day it can be used for your venue. The room is set with 22 round tables and 8 chairs per table on the main floor area with space for 176 guests.

Scholarships

Established in 1965, this scholarship fund honors the work of Dr. Joseph Christopherson and his wife Evelyn, who in their own ways served the medical needs of Mason City for more than three and a half decades. Family, friends and associates initially endowed the Dr. J.E. Christopherson Memorial Scholarship to encourage talented students from north Iowa to attend North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) to study pre-medicine.
