In the U.S., four million animals are euthanized in our shelters each year. Friends for Rescue and Pet Care, Inc. was founded by a group of animal lovers concerned about pet overpopulation in Delaware. We participate in the United Way of Delaware's Write-In program, allowing us to receive donations through the United Way.

To designate your donation to us, you can write our book/code number (9522) on your workplace pledge form. If your Non-Profit Organization would like to request spay/neuter funds, please Download our Grant Application form here. We regret we cannot provide funds for individuals.

Welcome to the State of Delaware Spay & Neuter Program page. We know you want to keep your pet happy and healthy. Having your cat or dog spayed or neutered, also known as "fixed, " is a great way to ensure your pet's health and wellbeing over time. The Spay & Neuter Program provides low-cost spay and neuter services to cats and dogs of income eligible applicants.

Report
Spaying before your pet reaches sexual maturity greatly reduces the risk of breast cancer later in life, and eliminates the threat of uterine & ovarian cancers and uterine infection. Altered cats live 3 to 4 years longer than unaltered cats. Neutering male dogs or cats prevents testicular tumors and may prevent prostate problems.
