Our programs combine outdoor adventure, skill-building activities, and social development in a technology-free environment. Campers grow through structured challenges and unstructured play while forming lasting friendships in a supportive community.
Outdoor Adventure Activities
With over 40 activities available, campers explore water sports, ropes courses, horseback riding, archery, and more. Each activity promotes physical fitness, teamwork, and personal growth while emphasizing safety and skill development. Certified instructors guide participants through progressive challenges tailored to their abilities.
Tribal Competition Programs
Our unique tribal system fosters camaraderie and healthy competition through weekly events like Superthon and Gold Rush. Campers develop leadership skills while working collaboratively across age groups. These traditions build community spirit and create memorable shared experiences for all participants.
Creative Arts Programs
Campers express themselves through diverse creative outlets including visual arts, music, dance, and theater. Our instructors nurture artistic talent while encouraging experimentation with new mediums. The program culminates in performances and exhibitions showcasing campers' creative achievements.
Leadership Development
Through counselor-in-training programs and peer mentoring opportunities, older campers develop leadership skills. The CIT program prepares teens for staff roles while emphasizing responsibility, communication, and conflict resolution. These experiences build confidence and prepare youth for future leadership positions.

My husband attended Rio Vista back in the early 1980s and now my 3 kids attend Rio Vista and Sierra Vista. The wonderful memories they have made at camp are priceless. It's their home away from home and where they have had some of their happiest moments. They are always sad to leave and can't wait to go back next summer. The directors and counselors are amazing and care so much for each camper. They give their all to make sure each camper has a great experience. Friendships, independence, growth, fun, service, hard work, leadership and teamwork are just a few words to describe why we are grateful

This is our third year sending our girls to Sierra Vista. Every year when we pick them up from camp, they give us the biggest hug and say thank you for giving us the best gift two parents could give! As parents, we love Sierra Vista for many reasons. The biggest draw to the camp, besides the fact it is Christian, is the culture. It is not a day spa in the hill country. It is camp like what you see in the movies. They get dirty, do new things and just get to be a kid. Its the best!

We love this place. With plans to make this our son's home away from home during summers. Nat is an amazing person and we love him for all he has done for our son. In the short time with his Rio Vista family his confidence went from questioning himself to believing in himself. We only did the week term and then our son got strep and had to come home. Or son fights with strep so it wasn't nothing they did. He was such a sad boy on the way home. But we are planning for 2 weeks this coming year ..
