For nearly four decades, Jim Abernethy has specialized in large predatory shark diving, always without a cage. These experiences have provided Jim with the knowledge of how to interact with groups of large sharks, safely. In 2002, Jim discovered the affectionate side of sharks while removing a hook from the jaw of a tiger shark at Tiger Beach.
This has since revolutionized diving at Tiger Beach as it is the only place on earth to witness this behavior. In turn, Jim has passed this knowledge onto his crew to teach divers how to make friends with sharks using affection, rather than food. Divers will have the opportunity to witness Jim's crew interact with tiger sharks, great hammerheads, and lemon sharks using Jim's techniques for affection.

This spectacular shark diving location is unlike any other in the world and guarantees one of the most unique underwater experiences in a diver's life! The shallow sand flat, located north of the West End of Grand Bahama Island, is the most reliable, consistent and, arguably, photographically pleasing spot to photograph these striped beauties on Earth.
