Good things happen when a boy leaves home for camp. He gains independence and finds his own voice. Camp Voyageur fills a summer with sports, adventure and exploring the Boundary Waters with friends. On our peninsula boys live together in small cabins, take care of their own gear and share chores. Sports and activities emphasize cooperation and character.

On wilderness trips boys contribute to the good of the group by "pulling their own weight". Camp Voyageur specializes in back country travel throughout the Boundary Waters, Quetico, Isle Royale, Apostle Islands and beyond. This wilderness inspires adventure that lasts a lifetime. The adventure starts at our dock.

About
Report
Camp Voyageur offers boys a robust base camp routine of land and water sports, coupled with wilderness trips in the adjacent, two million acre Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and Quetico/Superior. Kids grow strong in camp playing sports and making friends. In the surrounding lake country they master wilderness skills.
Leadership
Report
Camp Voyageur has been owned and operated by the Erdmann family since 1951. Brother and sister team John and Deb Erdmann direct camp and want to help you decide if Camp Voyageur is a good fit for you or your son. Contact them with questions or to discuss your summer camp options. Since the summer of 1984, John Erdmann has continued the family tradition founded in 1951.
Canoeing
Report
Comprised of more than two million acres, the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness and adjacent Quetico Provincial Park of Ontario, Canada form one of the world's premier canoe wildernesses. The Ojibwa carved the portage trails we still use around the foaming rapids of Basswood, and clear waters of Lac La Croix and Knife Lakes.
Hiking
Report
The diverse terrain found in the Boundary Waters provides a perfect opportunity for hiking trips. Hundreds of miles of trails connect the dense balsam, birch and pine forests of the region. Whether hiking along the high, rocky cliffs overlooking Snowbank Lake, passing through the thick, cool stands of cedar along the Kekekabic Trail or past remnants of the logging era on the Old Pines Trail, a different challenge awaits campers around every bend.
Kayaking
Report
The abundant lakes of the Boundary Waters offer different challenges to kayakers. Boys can paddle to rapids and iconic waterfalls and large border lakes. Campers learn to kayak during free swim periods while in camp. We offer a kayak Apostle Islands Advanced Trip on Lake Superior for older campers who have mastered specific kayak rescue skills.
