Welcome to Waitsfield Pottery, my studio/showroom located in the heart of Historic Waitsfield Village and nestled in the Green Mountains of Vermont. Here you will find the finest quality functional stoneware available anywhere. My pots are all hand-thrown and finished at the potter's wheel, hand decorated with richly textured engobes and glazes, and fired to 2200F.

An apprenticeship in Germany is a 2-3 year education with hands-on training, classroom time and exams for a journeyman's diploma. As a journeyman, you then work for a master and go to masterschool for 3 or more years, and take several more exams to become a potter yourself. Everybody wanted to be a potter in those days, and with few master potters to go around, it was difficult to find placement as an apprentice.
