Triclinium rugs refers to a rug that has the appearance of four rugs placed together. While it is believed that historically these rugs were sold individually in a grouping, triclinium rug now refers to one individual rug. The most common use of these triclinium rugs is to house a low table on the main, center carpet and provide floor seating on the runner rugs around it.

Antique Isfahan Rugs (or Esfahans Rugs), claim a very proud tradition among Persian rugs going back to Safavid times in the seventeenth century. Isfahan was then the capital of Persia and many of the court quality carpets of this period that survive today have been attributed to Isfahan.
Antique Farahan Rugs and carpets that were woven in/around the region called Arak in west central Iran, are remarkable for their ability to combine different qualities and sensibilities.
