Cantwell Family Psychiatry, PC is a private psychiatric practice serving the mental health needs of patients from south Alabama and the Florida panhandle. Dr. Cantwell treats adults, children, and adolescents for a number of mental health conditions and disorders. Dr. Cantwell has been a psychiatrist for over thirty years, the last nine of which have been in Fairhope, Daphne, and Mobile Alabama.
He is dual Board Certified in Adult, Child, and Adolescent Psychiatry, who received his medical degree from the University of Michigan in 1987, and completed his residency training and fellowship at the University of Florida in 1992. Dr. Cantwell has served as full-time medical school faculty at the University of Virginia and at the University of Colorado, and as Medical Director at several psychiatric facilities in Colorado.

Protecting the privacy and confidentiality of patient information is very important to Cantwell Family Psychiatry, PC (CFP). Patient health information is confidential and cannot be released without the patient's written consent, unless otherwise required by law. CFP is compliant with federal regulations, including Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Schedule Appt
Report
Dr. Cantwell sees patients from 8am to 5pm, Mondays through Thursdays. However, the office is open on Fridays from 8am to 4pm for patients to schedule appointments. Patients may schedule appointments by calling the CFP office at 251-517-5800. However, the CFP office is open on Fridays from 8am to 12 noon for patients to call in to schedule or cancel appointments.

Please read the below section carefully to ensure that you bring all of the appropriate information to your first appointment with Dr. Cantwell. Please bring all medication bottles (prescription and over the counter) you or your child/adolescent currently takes routinely and as needed. Please bring your driver's license or photo ID, insurance card, and copay or coinsurance amount required prior to seeing Dr. Cantwell.
