Hermida, Esther
I created these pages to provide information to anyone looking for a court certified interpreter-from companies to translation and interpretation agencies, from institutions to individuals. You will learn what qualifications are required for becoming a certified interpreter, what the Courts require in many states, and why you should use certified interpreters.

It is my sincere wish to help you in your search for a certified interpreter, whether that interpreter is me or another qualified colleague. Please have a look at my CV and call me if my expertise would be useful for your assignment. Because the field of interpreting is relatively small, interpreters working in the same market tend to know each other.

Remote Interpreting
Report
Language interpreting is needed now more than ever. A lot of it is being done remotely to meet the needs of those that must carry on with their business. Going from regular Zoom meetings, using the simultaneous or consecutive mode, to more specialized interpreter friendly virtual environments, where simultaneous rules, these solutions can adapt to your most ambitious projects.
FAQs and Helpful Tips
Report
What is a certified interpreter? An interpreting candidate becomes "certified" after successfully passing a competency test administered by the judiciary branch of government or other similar entity. The Exam measures the person's language and interpreting abilities. In California, for example, the exam is administered by the Judicial Council.
