Your Trusted Mental Health Partner in Gainesville, FL
Founded in 1991 by Dr. Elias H Sarkis, our clinic was established to deliver high-quality psychiatric care to children and families in north-central Florida. Over three decades, we've expanded our services to incorporate holistic and integrative treatment approaches that examine patients' nutritional habits, social interactions, academic performance, and sleep patterns during evaluations. Our comprehensive care combines conventional treatments like medication and psychotherapy with non-drug therapies such as nutritional supplements, neurofeedback, and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS).

We pioneered computer-based cognitive training in North Florida and maintain active clinical research programs. Our multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, nurse practitioners, and therapists collaborates to provide personalized treatment plans while emphasizing family involvement. We operate with strict adherence to evidence-based practices and maintain transparent policies regarding appointment scheduling and patient responsibilities.

Services
Psychiatric Evaluation
Our comprehensive psychiatric evaluations examine multiple aspects of mental health including cognitive function, emotional well-being, and behavioral patterns. We consider nutritional habits, social interactions, academic performance, and sleep patterns to create personalized treatment plans addressing conditions like ADHD, depression, and anxiety disorders.
Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation
TMS provides non-invasive depression treatment using magnetic fields to stimulate nerve cells in the brain. This FDA-approved therapy offers an alternative to medication without requiring surgery or electric shocks. Our clinic pioneered this treatment in North Florida, delivering evidence-based care for treatment-resistant depression cases.
Neurofeedback Training
This specialized biofeedback technique helps patients learn to regulate brain activity through real-time monitoring. We use neurofeedback to address ADHD, anxiety disorders, and other conditions by training patients to modify their brainwave patterns for improved emotional regulation and cognitive function.
Mindfulness Meditation
Our certified stress management coach provides mindfulness meditation instruction to help patients develop greater awareness of thoughts and emotions. This evidence-based approach reduces inner turmoil while offering documented benefits including lower blood pressure and decreased depression relapse rates through structured meditation techniques.
Family Therapy
We incorporate family systems approaches recognizing how individual mental health issues affect entire families. Our therapists work with multiple family members to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and develop supportive home environments that enhance treatment outcomes for children and adults experiencing mental health challenges.

Bad experience here. Tried 2 different doctors and had the same situations occur. Major lack of transparency in the patient/doctor relationship. First of all, I was never told what my diagnosis was. I had to drag it out of my doctor 6 months into treatment. Secondly, I was prescribed medicine without being told what it was for. Later I found out they gave me an off label prescription for a medicine that had no connection to my diagnosis. After 7 months of being on one certain medicine (with absolutely no effect) the doctor just increased the dosage and prescribed more medicine on top of it instead

Exceptional care facility. I had been dealing with anxiety for years until I went to Sarkis. The receptionist I dealt with, Elizabeth Sapp was super nice and welcoming everytime I called or came up there. She went above and beyond the call of duty to help me and many others. A true blessing from above!!!

This was the best experience I ever had with doctors. I was skeptical because when I called to make the appointment they guided me to a nurse practitioner, as opposed to a doctor. I was also worried because it is a private pay only facility that they were going to take my money and not help me (as has happened so many times in the past). Once I got there I just felt like they actually cared, the front desk staff immediately asked me who I was and what time my appointment was, and when they looked in the file they had from filling out the initial appointment review they immediately gave me the packet

The Dr I saw harped on my weight nonstop.Dr Solomon didnt see me as a person, just someone who was overweight. If shed have quit pushing the scale she would have seen the depressed patient in front of her. But she didnt. Maybe she should have gone into bariatric medicine. Or become a personal trainer. And stayed away from vulnerable depressed and anxious people.
