Care for the Newborn
Report
Feeding: Breast feeding is best for the baby (and provides lots of benefits for you, too). Skin care: The umbilical cord will fall off after several weeks. Until then, keep it dry by folding the diaper edge below it. At every diaper change clean around the base of the belly button by using a Q-tip dipped in rubbing alcohol.
