Chism Trail Ranch

Chism Trail Ranch was established in 2004 by the Chism family to share the transformative power of hard work and horsemanship with others. As a family-run operation, we combine decades of equestrian experience with a commitment to fostering physical, emotional, and social growth through horseback riding. Our 240-acre facility in Merrill, Wisconsin, features state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor arenas, miles of scenic trails along the Pine River, and accommodations for both horses and riders. We specialize in personalized horsemanship lessons, guided trail rides, and immersive camps tailored to riders aged 6 and older, from beginners to advanced levels. Our team of knowledgeable instructors emphasizes natural horsemanship techniques, ensuring safety, comfort, and control for both horse and rider.

We host sanctioned barrel racing events, cattle sorting competitions, and team roping clinics, welcoming participants of all skill levels. With amenities including 42 indoor stalls, a heated lounge, and a licensed restaurant, we provide a welcoming environment where families become part of our ranch community. Our focus on year-round accessibility, small group sizes, and individualized instruction sets us apart as a leader in equestrian education and recreation. We pride ourselves on maintaining high standards of care for our horses and delivering unforgettable experiences that connect people with the timeless cowboy lifestyle.
