The year was 1976. After working for the Leeds Shoe Company for about 20 years, rising from a young shoe salesman to becoming the Executive Vice President of the Women's Division, Dale Dotson decided to open his very own shoe store. With the knowledge and experience he gained working in the corporate world, he successfully opened up his first store in the Volusia Mall in Daytona Beach, Florida.
