Carma Shay, M.S. CCC-SLP is a State of Alaska licensed Speech Language Pathologist providing online or in person speech language and feeding therapy. Carma is a "feeding therapist" as she has specialized instruction and education in providing oral function therapy to clients.
Carma has devoted her continuing education to severe communication disorders (Childhood Apraxia of Speech and Autism) as well as feeding and swallowing disorders, because of necessity for her family and now passion to help others.Carma received her Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from American Speech Language Hearing Association (ASHA).

Breathing difficulties such as increased respiratory rate during feeding, skin color change such as turning blue, apnea, stopping frequently due to uncoordinated suck-swallow-breathe pattern, changes in normal heart rate (brachycardia or tachycardia) in association with feeding;. Disengagement cues, such as facial grimacing, body stifenng, finger splaying, or head turning away from food source.
