Our welding shop opened in 1976 under the name of Ace Iron Works and for many years we specialized in manufacturing burglar bars, gates and various types of ornamental iron products. As the burglar bar market weakened in the mid 80's, many of our customers expressed an interest in securing their homes with attractive driveway gates.
So, in 1989, we changed our name to the Automatic Gate Company. We have continued over the years as a small family owned company specializing in meticulous workmanship, attention to detail and one on one service to each of our customers. Our many years of business has given us thousands of satisfied customers and an abundance of referrals are available.

Since 1976, we have been Houston's premier residential automatic gate manufacturer and service provider. We manufacture and install custom residential automatic gates. We install new gate openers on existing iron gates. We repair gates that are leaning over or gates that are dragging on the driveway.

Our high tech gate building shop offers three custom gate styles for your home. All of our automatic gates are furnished with advanced automatic reversing systems to provide additional safety for your children and pets. Avalon Style
Report
The Avalon is our most popular gate style. The slightly heavier Avalon Style with the 4 bar spacing is well suited for small children and animals. If you have a smaller than average dog take a look at our Barcelona style with the bars doubled on the bottom. Picket size 3/4", picket spacing 4", frame built with 4 rails - two top and two bottom, standard frame size is 1 1/4".
Economy Style

The Economy gate has our 4 spacing between the bars. It is similar to our Avalon style, but has three cross runners rather than four. This gate can be built with a picket point top, or smooth rail top, Since the three cross rails are not as much support as four we only offer this gate up to 13' feet wide unless we do diagonal bracing.
Power Options
Report
Our gate opener systems, along with over half of the opener market today, are powered by a battery system. This setup works well for areas getting over 5 hours of sunlight each day and is included in the price. This setup is recommended for partially blocked applications where you might have 2 to 5 hours of sunlight each day.
