The Faulkton Area Medical Center provides a broad range of services and programs to a population of over 2,600 in Faulkton and the surrounding county. FAMC serves as a magnet for residents of the surrounding area with many patients driving miles to receive specialty services.

Physicians, mid-levels, and professional staff are on call 24-hours per day, providing ambulance service, diagnostic lab and x-ray service, emergency service, and acute care.Like many rural areas across the U.S., as the population density is decreasing and our citizens become increasingly older, we see a growing need for specialty medical services including home care, cardiology, oncology, therapy, rehabilitation, and various wellness programs.

Our Services

Faulkton Area Medical Center is a critical access, twelve bed hospital, with an attached provider-based rural health clinic located in central Faulk County, South Dakota. From caring for children, to using current technology in radiology, medical professionals at FAMC offer patients a wide range of health care services.
Our Clinics

The Faulkton Area Medical Center Clinic is a provider-based rural health clinic attached to a critical access hospital. Our clinic has eight exam rooms that are equipped to meet the needs of our patients. We currently have one full-time MD, two full-time PA-Cs, one full-time CNP, and one MD that has clinic hours once a week.

With strong ties to our South Dakota communities, our doctors look to make each patient have a comfortable and informative experience. Dr. Sylvia Anderson is a graduate of Miller High School, Miller, SD. She attended the University of North Dakota, transferred to Southern Nazarene University, in Bethany, Oklahoma, and received her Bachelor of Science in Chemistry in 1995.
