Meet Our Family

Thomas and Bonnie are the owners and founders of the funeral home. Both semi-retired, Tom was a first generation funeral director licensed for over 46 years, and started the Melvin Funeral Home in 1990. Bonnie assists with viewings and funerals and coordinates our aftercare program. Gene is the son of Tom and Bonnie and has been a licensed funeral director in Delaware for over 24 years.
Cremation
Report
The Traditional Funeral Service with cremation is a standard funeral service with the deceased present. A solid oak rental casket or a special constructed cremation casket is used for the ceremony. Once the service is complete, instead of going to a cemetery, family and friends are excused and the deceased is cremated and the cremains returned to the family.

Welcome to Melvin Monuments, a subsidiary of Melvin Funeral Home. We saw a need to offer our families, and the community, high quality monuments at affordable prices. We have the experience and expertise to provide any type of monument, and our lower overhead allows us to sell our monuments at a lower cost.
