Ankle Sprains
Report
An ankle sprain is one of the most common types of ankle injuries. Ankle sprains often occur when someone "rolls" their ankle during a sports activity or when walking or running on uneven terrain. Sometimes a "pop" in the ankle is felt or heard during the injury. Ankle sprains usually involve injury to a ligament, but fractures and cartilage or tendon damage also are possible.
Achilles Tendinitis
Report
Tendons are the structures that attach muscles to bones. They allow the energy created when muscles contract to be transformed into movement. Without healthy tendons, our ability to move is hampered. Without strong, healthy tendons in our feet and ankles, standing, walking and running can become difficult and painful.
Big Toe Arthritis
Report
More often the problem is related to the type of foot structure a person is born with. Certain foot types do not allow enough movement of the toe. With each step taken, there is excess pressure in the joint. Over time, this excess pressure causes damage within the joint. Bone spurs develop, and the joint becomes enlarged.
