Pedorthics is the use of footwear and sometimes orthotics, to help ease and treat lower extremity related problems. We use board certified Pedorthists (CPed) with many years of experience to evaluate and treat lower extremity conditions. I've been going to Scott since about 4 years ago, and from my first visit, he did more for me than 20 years of visiting podiatrists! He is a keen observer and listener, and using his skills as a Pedorthist, he was able to create an orthotic for me that worked! He is wonderful to work with and I recommend him to anyone who has ever had an issue with their feet! As a hiker, I am always appreciative with the high quality selection of sneaker choices, too. As a realtor, I'm on my feet all day, so what he does really creates a better day for me everyday!

Went in with feet hurting for years and several months ago acquired plantar fasciitis and in tears by the end of wk day.. Fantastic buying experience. I have been trying to exercise more but my regular shoes promoted knee pain. Amy at Foot RX asked questions about my lifestyle, challenges with my feet/legs/back, observed my gait and then made her recommendations for brands and styles. She had me try on several pairs of shoes making sure that each one was a good fit and ask me what I liked or disliked about each pair. At the end, I found an amazing pair of walking/trek shoes that I think are really going to help me be more comfortable and exercise more. Highly recommend and I'll be going back for another pair soon

Absolutely the most knowledgeable and friendliest staff! They truly care about helping you find the right shoes and equipment to make your walk/run more comfortable and enjoyable. The staff are real athletes who have real world experience with the products they carry, but don't intimidate the casual runner/walker/person with foot pain. They take time with each customer even when they're busy, and the store is always putting on races and events for the community. When you shop local at Foot Rx, you really get more for your dollar.

The only place to go for you are a runner in Asheville. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and on point when meeting your needs. Plus Scott does magic with his orthotic service: my daughter has been wearing them for years and the impact has been amazing. And I won’t play soccer without a pair of his off the shelf insoles in my boots.

From my first phone call to my fitting yesterday, Scott was absolutely amazing! He is kind, compassionate, and just all around genuine. He takes his time to find out what you need the most, explains… the process, and won't stop until you have the best fit possible!! His prices are hands down the BEST! I'm 44 with high arches. By far, this is the Best place in town to get shoes for running, hiking, walking, etc. Scott Socha is a wonder individual who… loves feet and will do his best to take good care of your amazing feet. The staff is super knowledgeable, patient, and kind. They are genuinely interested in you having awesome comfortable shoes to suit your needs and activities and are not interested in you buying things you don't really need. I trust them 100% and highly recommend them.

These guys (Amy in particular) have been so wonderful to work with! Seriously finding the right shoes for my current situation changed everything for me. They don’t try to push brands on you they offer suggestions and you decide what you prefer best. They explain how the shoes are designed unique to the shape and need. Top notch customer service! What a fabulous shop this is! I had an appointment with Joe who is a pedorthist there! I never heard of this before and a friend suggested going there. I'm glad I did! It was an hour appt I told him my issues and the I always have in hips and back, I told him I walk 4 to five miles 4 to five days a week he watched my gait a few times and tried on many pairs of sneakers and orthotics! After time we found a pair that felt really good! I could go on and on ! What it comes down to it his knowledge and help was excellent! Patient with me and easy to talk to!!! Thank you to Joe!! Even though I am not a runner, this is probably my favorite business in town. This shoe store is dedicated to helping their customers find exactly the right shoe and they seem to go to Great Lengths to make it happen. Their resident pedorthist will make custom orthotics and work with you until they are exactly right. I have rarely seen a business so interested in customer satisfaction.

Fantastic local running and walking shop that supports it's community! You can not go wrong visiting this excellent establishment! They do a great job and will work their tails off to get in the best footwear possible for you. You get 30 days to run or walk in the shoes and can exchange them if there is a problem worn or not. Amazing service!

I was having longer recovery days and aches after long hikes so I decided to finally do something about it - although I did not want to wait three weeks for custom orthotics and spend upwards of $300-500

I love the selection and the process they use to find the right shoe for us. I was disappointed today with their payment policy. I had been told on my last visit that I would be eligible for a $25 discount on this next visit because of purchasing $250 in shoes in the past. Apparently they have a new computer system and that discount did not flow through to the new system. They did offer a discount off of today's shoes, just not the $25 they had promised me as a repeat customer.
