At Centreville Preschool Inc., our teachers enthusiastically support your child's curiosity and creativity while teaching skills such as listening, following directions, getting along with others, sharing, making choices, and following classroom rules. Each day your child will explore and create by participating in art, sensory, science, music, dramatic play, free play, outdoor play, manipulatives, and blocks.
CPI's Beginners program is the perfect way to introduce your child to play-based learning in a classroom. The non-cooperative Beginners program is taught by an experienced teacher who is assisted by a teacher's aide. Potty training is not required. CPI's primary goal in all classes is for our children to enjoy school and to have positive feelings about school and themselves.

The Cooperative Experience
Report
Centreville Preschool is proud to be Centreville's only non-profit, cooperative preschool. As a member of the Virginia Cooperative Preschool Council, CPI has been owned and operated by parents, and staffed by professional teachers, since 1969.
In a cooperative preschool like CPI, there is a trained teacher (or teachers) for each class, but parents take turns helping out in the classroom on a rotating basis, usually once a month or every five or six weeks. They are also asked to bring in snacks and drinks. In addition, cooperative parents are required to serve on a school committee and assist with one school improvement project during the academic year.

Teachers and Staff
Report
Our caring and creative staff of educators has more than 75 years of combined experience teaching at CPI. Teachers and aides design and implement the curricula, making sure to include interesting, educational, and fun-filled daily activities. Our Teacher/Director assists the staff and serves as the liaison to the Board of Directors.
Board of Directors
Report
The Board of Directors of Centreville Preschool usually meets on the third Thursday of each month, 7:00PM (please contact the school to confirm specific time and location). All portions of the meetings are open to all members and faculty, with the exception of discussions of personal information pertaining to a student or CPI staff member.
Faq
Report
CPI plans to hold traditional, in-person classes during the 2021-2022 school year. We have reduced the number of classes we're offering and reduced the sizes of some classes in order to provide more space for the children to spread out, and we have also created pods of children who will not intermingle.
