Report
Jacob G. Schmitz, and his wife Sophie (Bischoff), were the first owners of the current property in the early 1900's. Jac was a deputy sheriff of Milwaukee County and Sophie was a nurse. Together they owned and operated Jac's Beer Garden and Restaurant in Milwaukee, serving working local people.
When Jac was advised to visit the Baileys Harbor area, they immediately fell in love with the beautiful landscape and sunsets and purchased a building near the lake to use as their summer home.There was nothing in the area, but the Underdunks home and the US Life Saving Station, and its crew who lived nearby.

Baileys Harbor Yacht Club Resort is a waterfront condominium resort on the quiet side of Door County. All of our units are privately owned and individually decorated. All rooms and suites conform to our highest quality standards, but decor is not standardized. There are 4 different types of rooms: Staterooms, Junior Suites, One Bedroom Suites and Two Bedroom Suites.

Staterooms are one large room with either 1 King bed, 1 Queen bed, or 2 Queen beds and a private bathroom. They include a sitting area, small refrigerator, microwave, and coffee maker. Sit out on your private patio or balcony and enjoy the courtyard and marina views. Like a standard Stateroom, our Deluxe & Premier Staterooms also have an optional kitchenette, whirlpool, or fireplace.

Staterooms are attractive one-room units with a private bathroom, like a traditional hotel room. Staterooms can have either 1 King bed, 1 Queen bed, or 2 Queen beds. They generally will comfortably sleep 2 to 4 people. Your Stateroom will also have a sitting area with a sleeper sofa, a television, a kitchenette, and a dining table and chairs.
