Preserving Equestrian Tradition Since 1925
Founded in 1925, Tryon Riding & Hunt Club has dedicated nearly a century to preserving and promoting equestrian traditions in Tryon, North Carolina. Our organization fosters horseback riding through educational programs, competitive events, and community engagement. We maintain over 200 miles of riding trails and carriageways while supporting nature conservation efforts. Our annual events, including the prestigious Block House Steeplechase Races, attract thousands of visitors and generate critical funds for local charities. We administer college scholarships through the Polk County Community Foundation and support equestrian grants for regional organizations.

Our volunteer-driven model enables community members to participate in trail maintenance, event planning, and historic preservation. The club's iconic 'Tally-Ho' carriage and Morris the Horse symbolize our commitment to equestrian heritage. With members from diverse backgrounds, we create inclusive opportunities for both equestrians and non-equestrians. Our office relocation history reflects our deep roots in Tryon's historic district. Through strategic partnerships with venues like FENCE and Tryon International Equestrian Center, we continue expanding our impact while maintaining core traditions.
