Just come, register at the FENCE Show Office to get a tag, and then park across the street from the XC Course. Time at the water obstacle will be shared and not reserved. The Tryon Riding and Hunt Club is committed to supporting the local community and has been since its inception. Carter Brown founded the organization with an understanding that a symbiotic relationship between our events and our community was critical to our success.
This belief is at the heart of all of our events and is demonstrated through our support of local charities and organizations. The image here is of the original painting done by Joan McIntyre for the 73rd Block House Steeplechase. It will be auctioned at the next running of the Races and proceeds used by the Club to benefit the community.

Charity I Horse Show
Report
The Tryon Riding & Hunt Club puts on two A-rated horse shows each spring at the Tryon International Equestrian Center that attract from 600 to 700 horses from across the United States. These have come to be know locally as Charity I and Charity II. The Charity I Show, first held in 1926, was designated in 2019 as one of its Heritage Horse Shows by the U.S. Equestrian Federation.
Any & All Dog Show
Report
It's almost that time of year when our beloved 4-legged companion can 'strut his stuff' at the Tryon Riding & Hunt Club's (TR&HC) Any and All Dog Show (AADS). No pedigree required, just a loving family member at the other end of the leash. Admission is free and all dogs welcome-- big or small, young or old.
Carter Brown BBQ
Report
An event that harkens back to one of the first events produced by TRHC - the Carter Brown BBQ was a meal for the community that was held in conjunction with the Charity I horse show (now in its 92nd year). It is believed that the first BBQ took place in 1928. Mr. Brown wanted to thank all of the landowners who allowed the Tryon Hounds, also founded by Carter Brown, to hunt on their properties during the year.
