Meet the Doctors

Dr. Brian S. Margolis is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. He has practiced dentistry since 1988 and specialized in periodontics since 1991. He received his dental degree with honors and his periodontal degree from New York University College of Dentistry. Upon graduation he was inducted into the elite dental honor society Omicron Kappa Upsilon and received distinctive awards in periodontics and geriatric dentistry.

The word "periodontal" means "around the tooth." Periodontal disease (also known as gum disease, pyorrhea or periodontal infection) is an ongoing bacterial infection in the gums and bone around your teeth. This infection leads to an inflammation under the gums, and if not treated, this inflammation can destroy the bone around your teeth.
