Congratulations on the success of the jujutsu camp today! I really liked the way it was structured and I could literally see how much more efficiently we all learned new skills. Relaxation through repeated meditation and visualization were the things I personally benefited most from. It maintains a non-combative mindset, fewer injuries and deep learning.

Iaido is Japanese Swordsmanship. It's a martial art form that began as an off-shoot of kenjutsu, and it was developed as a defensive method to counter surprise attacks and enemy raids in fifteenth and sixteenth century Japan. The purpose of iaido was to slay an opponent with one stroke of the sword immediately after unsheathing it.

A: Find one you love! All the arts at JMAC are easy to start, and great for fitness, confidence and a winning attitude! Choose one that best fits your personality. If you like Samurai movies and want to swing a sword, iaido is your best choice. If you like competition and a great workout, you'll probably prefer judo.

I've talked to a lot of people who say they've "always wanted to study martial arts, " but they weren't sure how to get started. We get calls from people who are scared they'll get hurt. Sometimes they're nervous because they haven't done it before and they're not sure how it will go. Or maybe they simply don't know how to get started.

It's very common to wonder about whether martial arts will be good for your child, and maybe if karate or judo will offer your child something he or she won't get in school or while playing with friends. Wouldn't it be helpful for you to stop in and watch a kids martial arts class with your child to make sure the environment is positive and safe?
