Several Sheboygan A's have received post-season honors from the Wisconsin State League, the League announced. The Sheboygan A's won their Wisconsin Class A State Tournament opener against the Appleton Legends 4-2. After West Allis's victory over Menasha, the A's and Macs were set to play at 7:30 PM Saturday before rain post postponed the game.

Jarrod Washburn, who pitched for the 2002 World Series Champion Los Angeles Angels in Game 1 and Game 5, played for the Sheboygan A's in 1994. Jack Taschner, another former A's pitcher who played six seasons in the majors and played for the A's in 1997, remembers a great fan base in Sheboygan. It was a big stepping stone for me.

A dramatic game-tying five-run ninth inning wasn't enough to deter the Blue Ribbons last night as they pulled off a 9-8 victory over the A's despite the assistance of an enthusiastic crowd.

Built in 1981, Wildwood Baseball Park is home to the Sheboygan A's, Sheboygan American Legion, Sheboygan North and Sheboygan South baseball programs. Additionally, Wildwood Baseball Park also hosts occasional youth games for the Sheboygan Diamonds, collegiate tournaments and more. Despite all that it has accomplished in the past half-century, the Sheboygan Athletic Club remains among Sheboygan's least known and least appreciated organizations. Most have heard of the Sheboygan A's. Sports fans know the A's are the city's baseball club. They play against extremely strong teams throughout Wisconsin and Illinois.
