Operating since 1996, we're one of the longest-running microbreweries in Lake Placid. We produce a wide-range of ales and lagers, including the well-known Whiteface Stout and John Brown Ale, at our on-site craft brewery.

The Kane family has been running one of Lake Placid's best restaurants for more than 30 years. Located in the heart of Main Street and overlooking Mirror Lake, many of our customers have been coming for years, when we were known as Great Adirondack Steak & Seafood. Our on-site craft brewery has grown so much, though, that we remodeled and relaunched ourselves as Great Adirondack Brewing Company in 2018.

In 1996, our family started the Lake City Brewing Company in Plattsburgh. Just a year later, we moved to our current location, changed our name to the Great Adirondack Brewing Company, and established ourselves as a premier Lake Placid brewery - and one of the first craft beer makers in the Adirondacks.
