My name is Chad Szpunar. In 2006 I started Chad's Tree & Shrub Service in Albuquerque, NM. I started the company from the ground up with a truck and a chainsaw. In 2014 I decided to sell and relocate my family to beautiful Colorado. While building my company I fell in love with tree work, and over the past 12 years I have developed a passion for tree care that I never thought imaginable.
Yes, I am one of those who truly loves the work they do every day. Upon moving to Castle Rock I continued my tree career as a foreman for a very large company in the Denver area. I noticed quickly with the company I worked for and with other companies in the area that production outweighed quality.

Report
Plant Health Care requires working with the landscape and environment to help create a balanced growing site for trees and shrubs to flourish. Compromising long-term plant health care for short-term aesthetics can often result in the over-all decline of the plants health. It's important to have an Arborist regularly monitor your landscape to assess the health of your trees.
Emerald Ash Borer Treatment
Report
The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) is an invasive insect native to Asia that showed up in Michigan in 2002. Since its arrival it has killed tens of millions of Ash trees in 22 states across North America and threatens to wipe out another 8.7 billion. South Denver and Douglas County is home to over 1.5 million Ash trees.
Supplemental Watering
Report
Water is essential to trees and shrubs. In Douglas County and across the front range we receive around 40% the national average of moisture in a given year. Winter snow storms can be far and few between with periods of long, hot dry spells. Without enough soil moisture trees will become dehydrated, stop growing, and go into decline.
Tree & Shrub Fertilization
Report
In Douglas County and across the front range our soils are not known to be fertile. Typically, the soils are compacted clay that have very little nutrients and organic matter. Clay soils restrict water flow, limit the movement of oxygen and carbon monoxide in the root zone, and restrict root growth.
