Palaestra Gymnastics Academy was founded by Kathy Needham in 1980. We take our name from the Greek word Palaestrum, some of the first training grounds for the Olympic games - and we believe in the same generations-old holistic practices that these original Olympians trusted. Palaestra Gymnastics Academy preschool program is taught through movement education.
This program provides a foundation for future sports, whether your child becomes a gymnast or not. Palaestra Gymnastics program is a proven system that develops listening skills, self-esteem, physical strength, coordination, agility, and most of all, an "I can" attitude. Children learn the concept of basic gymnastic skills.

He pays close attention to each gymnast regardless of their skill level and the kids learn social skills as well. Established since 1980 the name Palaestra originated from the Greek work palaestrium. Palaestriums were the training grounds for the olympic games many years ago. Like the Greeks, Palaestra Gymnastics Academy too, believes in a wholistic approach to training, mind, and body. Palaestra Gymnastics Academy offers USAG Competitive teams, level's 3 through 10, as well as the Xcel Program.
