Nestled in the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina and Blairsville Georgia, Big Ol' Fish Guiding service is Murphy's only full-time fishing charter service and Western North Carolina's only striped bass guide service.

ALL passengers on board the boat are required to possess either a valid Georgia or NC fishing license (depending on lake being fished). Ask your guide for details, or purchase at the applicable site:. Fishing trips will start out at a designated meeting place (either in Blairsville, GA, Hiawassee, GA or Murphy, NC) at a time agreed upon by both parties.

Lake Hiwassee is surrounded by the Nantahala and Cherokee National Forests. Big Ol' Fish Professional Guide services offers guided fishing tours a short drive from Asheville, Atlanta, and Chattanooga. This 22-mile long TVA reservoir is one of our favorite lakes. With it's breath taking views of steep rocky banks and miles of serene forests, it also provides some of the most exciting fishing around.

From December to early June, the huge trophy stripers are on the run and feeding heavily on bait. Some months may be cold, but this is the time we catch our monster trophy stripers. From June to November, the weather warms up and so does the striper fishing. Where the winter and spring yield quality, the summer and fall months hand over large quantities.
