The Aviation Exhibits on display at the Havelock Tourist & Event Center convey the grandeur of the aircraft our Marines and fellow military aviators have flown and still fly today. Visitors to the exhibits also learn the timeline of flight in eastern North Carolina and those particular models of aircraft our region has repaired, modified, even helped design.

Partnership Agreement with Craven Community College and ECAHF for Middle School Engineering Camp. These two organizations will continue to receive support from NAVAIR and NC State as they build on the tradition of high-quality activities to inspire the youth of Eastern North Carolina.

The Eastern Carolina Aviation Heritage Foundation celebrates the evolution of aviation in Coastal Carolina and the essence of the American spirit that has grown from the symbiotic partnership of the military and civilian communities that have shaped it.

The Eastern Carolina Aviation Heritage Foundation offers an opportunity to experience the heritage, culture, and sense of community and patriotism that grows from shared experiences that bond people of different backgrounds and histories.

One hundred years ago, Orville and Wilbur Wright took turns guiding their wood and fabric Flyer over the dunes of Kitty Hawk, N.C. Just over five years later, the Navy had made up its mind to acquire flying machines. Unfortunately, the then-Secretary of the Navy stated, "The department does not consider that the development of the aeroplane has progressed sufficiently at this time for use in the Navy."

Congratulations to the following students for their video submission of the Blast Off Challenge:. Each student applied their knowledge and skill to construct a rocket and launcher which successfully blasted the rocket into the atmosphere. Job well done! Ian Hudson, a 15-year-old Richlands, NC High School sophomore combined his love for space and science to create a YouTube children's series called Dr. Phineas Cortex's Spaceship Fleet.

From the grounds to the facility the exhibits testify to the hard work and ingenuity of Marine Aviation over the last 100 years. You will be introduced to a timeline of Aviation, starting at Kitty Hawk to today's introduction of the F-35B Joint Strike Fighter. You will have the opportunity to experience the aircraft on display, as well as, appreciate the expertise and detail that make each mission successful.

The Eastern Carolina Aviation Heritage Foundation is still functioning, working to preserve and highlight our eastern Carolina aviation heritage, and promote aviation-oriented Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) education in our region, even through this pandemic. The Board of Directors decided to cancel the 2021 Gala due to the Pandemic.
