About Us
Report
Jeff Peterson founded Kodiak Combos over 25 yeas ago. It all began with the mayor of Old Harbor asking Jeff to take a visitor from the city out fishing before the plane comes to take them back. Jeff was working as a Village Public Safety Officer and had a 15-foot Boston Whaler. He then started receiving phone calls asking how much he charged since Jeff had taken one of the caller's friends fishing while in Old Harbor.
Halibut Fishing
Report
We don't need to use 5 lbs of lead to fish our spots and halibut are most commonly taken in shallow waters. You will jig for halibut using several types of gear, in anywhere from 50 to 250-feet of water. One jig is a 20-ounce lead weight with dropper loop with a 16/0 circle hook with squid or fresh cod, another rig is 16-20 ounce leadhead with grubs.
King Salmon Fishing
Report
One boat trolls 3 down riggers, and the other boat trolls 4 down riggers. We vary our gear but mostly use whole herring trolled anywhere from 8-feet to 60-feet. Along with your Alaska Department of Fish and Game fishing license, a king stamp is required to retain king salmon. Fishing licenses and king stamps can be purchased online here.
Lingcod and Rockfish
Report
