About
Report
Dr. G'Anne Thomas, a 30-year veteran in the field, has been serving Athens and the surrounding communities since 1988. She received her undergraduate degree in speech pathology and her graduate degree in audiology from the University of Montevallo in Montevallo, Alabama, near her hometown of Birmingham.
Hearing Loss
Report
I have trouble understanding conversations when there's background noise, for example, at a restaurant or in a busy workplace. Hearing loss is more common than you might think. It's estimated that 48 million Americans experience hearing loss, including one in six baby boomers. Noise, diabetes or other factors can cause hearing loss.
Hearing Testing
Report
Wouldn't it be great if you could actually hear the sounds which connect you with your the family and world around you? Missing out on these important sounds leaves you isolated. We're here to help you and or your loved ones hear better so you can get the most out of life. Everything we do focuses on that goal, helping you hear better.
Hearing Loss Prevention
Report
Do you work around machines, vehicles, or crowds of people? What may seem like a normal amount of noise to you could actually be causing irreversible damage and contributing to hearing loss. For example, without proper ear protection, running a chainsaw for only two minutes can be dangerous for your hearing.
Ear Wax Management
Report
Did you know that earwax can become compacted and press against your eardrum, causing difficulty hearing or ringing in the ears? That's why sometimes treating hearing loss is as simple as removing ear wax. Earwax (cerumen), a waxy substance secreted in the ear canal, is there for a reason - to clean and protect the skin of your ear canal from debris, bacteria and water.
