Hawthorne Gallery & Frame Shop is a family owned business and has been in the town of Medford, New Jersey since 1973. We expanded in 2004 and have a double store in the MedLake Center, one side of our store is the art gallery, the other side, our frame shop. Our mats are cut on the Wizard computerized mat cutter.

Matting and Filets

We use two of the top of the line mat board manufacturers in the industry, Bainbridge and Crescent mat boards. Our Wizard Mat Cutter has the latest in mat cutting technology. With a computerized mat cutter, we can be accurate and offer a variety of special designs and cuts.
We have the ability to cut many different shapes and designs including ovals, rounds, remarque, newspaper, notch, southwestern, rounded corners, cathedrals, v-grooves, stars, hearts and many more.We use only acid free matting for preservations of the work we frame. Acid free mat boards will not stain your art work.

Conservation Framing and Dry Mounting

All matting is acid free and in most cases, we use acid free photo corners to hinge artwork to the mounting board, and filmoplast when corners cannot be used. The mounting board is a high quality backer to assure discoloration and browning will not occur. Why is my artwork rippling? It needs to be dry mounted.
Glazing

We offer several types of glazing. Our glass company is TRU-VUE the leading supplier in specialty picture framing glazing products. Regular Glass is a plain shiny glass. However the glass we use is NOT window pane grade glass, it is picture frame quality glass. Non Glare Glass is a glass that is chemically treated on one side to reduce glare and reflection.

Shadowbox, Flag and Memory Case Framing: Shadowboxing can be used for many different items that need depth. Items we have shadowboxed are: arrow heads, watches, war metals, coins, hats, dresses, sports items, eye glasses, wood carvings, jewelry etc. The techniques we use for mounting are designed to be reversible and without damage to the item.

Our art gallery features national and world renowned artists like: Robert Bateman, G. Harvey, Terry Redlin, Bev Doolittle, Charles Wysocki, Carl Brenders, James Christensen, Howard Terpning, and many more. We also represent many local artists and are always looking for new talent. The advantage of ordering through us is any art work purchased or ordered through us receives 20% off framing of that print.
