Real 2 Reel Studios is the longest continually operating recording studio in the metro Atlanta area. Located in Jonesboro, Georgia, a quick 15 minute drive from Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport, Real 2 Reel Studios opened it's doors in 1976 and was one of the first musician owned and operated studios in the Atlanta area.
Founder Bill Turpin, an icon in the Atlanta music scene, passed away in December of 2018. Will Turpin, Bill's son and the bassist and a founding member Collective Soul is now a co-owner with Bill's long time business partner, Steve Rawls. In the 1980's Real 2 Reel Studios hired a young Ed Roland who formed the group Collective Soul while working at Real 2 Reel.

Real 2 Reel Studio's A Room is a beautiful, 25' x 32' room with 16' ceilings, hardwood floors and is surrounded by three Iso booths. The room was designed by Les Duncan and features "tunable" architecture. The hinged panels allow control of how big the room sounds. The isolation between the control rooms, isolation booths and Studio A is achieved with a triple wall construction.

Our system is a self-contained, turn-key, 24 track recording studio; ready to go wherever you need it, whenever you need it. We are capable of recording 24 tracks of audio with the iZcorp Radar 24/96 Nyquist system. Two systems are available, increasing the track count to 48.
We can provide you with a live stereo mix on CD immediately following the performance and/or take the multitrack recording back to our Control Room for final mixdown in Pro Tools or to any place of your choice.Our system is very compact and perfect for recording performances at concert halls or small venues.

We do surround up-mixes and restoration from stereo masters for many DVD re-release and compilation projects like; Kansas, Electric Light Orchestra, Hall and Oats, Ashanti, Brooks and Dunn, Alan Jackson, Foreigner, Martina McBride, Alabama, Kenny Chesney, Tony Bennett as well as many motion picture soundtracks.Control Room "A" was designed for working in surround.

For all studio rates and booking give us a call at 770-472-4747 or email us. We offer hourly, half day, full day and long term lock-out rates. A deposit is required to confirm your booking or it can be secured with a P.O. from a label/corporation pending credit approval. Balance due at the completion of sessions.
